MLA Design Group is an award-winning Landscape Architecture and Land Planning firm based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. For over 30 years, owners Scott and Ash Miller have served clients along the East Coast. Our motto, "Turning Land Into Landmarks," reflects our goal of meeting client needs while working with the unique features of each property. Our mission is to align client needs with the unique opportunities and challenges of each property.
With over 60 years of combined experience, we bring a diverse set of talents and a broad range of skills across many areas. What sets us apart, and what we value most, is our ability to connect with our clients. We focus on understanding their needs and goals while pushing creative boundaries.
Our professional staff has provided design services for both the public and private sectors on sites ranging from less than 1 acre to over 2,000 acres. The highly polished end product reflects our passion to do great work while giving personal attention to each detail.

Ash & Scott Miller each share common core values and strong commitments to quality. They come from different backgrounds and experiences, which helps to foster their ultimate vision.

EXEC. VICE PRESIDENT/PARTNER, MLAAs an N.C. registered Landscape Architect, Ash was raised and educated in India. She has a strong work ethic, an education in architecture, strong talents with interior design, and an appreciation for detail and selection of materials. Beyond her strong skills with everything IT (CAD, 3D modeling, financial software, etc.), Ash has a passion for the creative arts. This is evident with her successes/abilities on the ballroom dancing floor and in the culinary arts and baking arenas. But aside of her talents, her finest trait might just be her innate ability to connect to people, to forge friendships and relationships that last a lifetime.

PRESIDENT/PARTNER, MLAScott has been an N.C. registered Landscape Architect for over 35 years. He holds a BA in Parks and Recreation and a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Scott enjoys just about any outdoor sporting activity and traveling. Having lived in over 30 places within the US while young and traveling internationally as an adult, Scott has an appreciation for different ways of living and solving problems with the ability to adapt when needed. Some might say that Scott possesses a passion to find creative solutions to problems and/or obstacles and for anything construction-related.
A PERSONAL NOTE
As a small firm, each project is special and important to us. We are both personally involved in each endeavor and strive to be great communicators, committed team members, and proactive advocates for each opportunity that comes our way.
We are both honored to be responsible for our two girls, Bella and Lola. They reinforce in us each and every day what is important in life and that our time here is a gift. We attempt to apply this to our business as well. We appreciate those who have entrusted us thus far and those we have yet to meet.
